Woodridge Forest Middle School Expansion On Track

Woodridge Forest Middle School is growing due to an expansion project that will increase classrooms and update facilities. The project is now 65 percent complete and is on track to be finished this summer.

Construction began last spring as part of the 2018 bond program approved by voters two years ago. The expansion includes more classrooms and expanded physical education dressing rooms. The additional classrooms will increase capacity at the school from 1,140 to 1,500 students.

Located within Woodridge Forest, the on-site middle school was ranked among the 2020 top 10 standout middle schools in Montgomery County by Niche.com. A strong academic program coupled with opportunities for self-expression through a range of extracurricular activities prepares young students for high school. Students score above the state average on mandatory tests and received distinctions in math, comparative academic growth and comparative closing the gap.

The curriculum is strong with more advanced students having the opportunity to take classes for high school credit. The 8th grade Spartans football team posted an undefeated season this year and a district championship win. Students also can participate in basketball, cross country, soccer, track and field, volleyball and cheerleading. Woodridge Forest Middle School is part of the New Caney ISD which was recently named one of the top 25 school districts in the Houston area by Niche.com.
