Woodridge Forest Launches School Supply Drive

Woodridge Forest is opening its doors and hearts this October, asking people to bring school supplies when they visit the community. Donations of notebooks, pencils, backpacks, rulers, calculators, boxes of facial tissue, scissors and other items are being accepted at the Westin Homes' model in Woodridge Forest, located at 25218 Quiet Ledge, through Oct. 31. Donations will be given to the schools serving Woodridge Forest — Kings Manor Elementary, on-site Woodridge Forest Middle School and Porter High School. "While our residents weren't impacted by Hurricane Harvey, many others were, so we wanted to do something that would directly benefit our greater community, specifically, the students and teachers at schools serving Woodridge Forest," said Harry Masterson with Concourse Development, developer of Woodridge Forest. The start of the school year for the three campuses — and the rest of the schools in the New Caney Independent School District — was delayed to Sept. 6 following Hurricane Harvey. "These supplies will help those students who had minimal or no items when school started, plus restock teachers' supplies, which are often diminished as the school year goes on," said Heather Bills, sales manager with Westin Homes. The Westin Homes' model is one of five model homes open in Woodridge Forest, which offers single-family homes and townhomes priced from the $220,000s. The community is located one mile east of Highway 59 in the Kingwood area of Houston. Woodridge Forest is a member of the Kingwood Service Association (KSA), which allows residents access to 17 pools throughout Kingwood, as well as 75 miles of trails. Residents also enjoy their own community center, resort-style pool, stocked fishing ponds, three lakes and two creeks.
