Chesmar Homes has taken root in Woodridge Forest, following up a successful first year in the Porter community with new single-family home designs and a third model home.

The Houston-based builder began sales of townhomes in Woodridge Forest in 2017. Nearly a year later, Chesmar is in closeout with only nine available homes left. Opening in a new section of the forested community, Chesmar is now turning its attention to providing buyers with single-family designs from its Fortunata Collection.

“We expect these new single-family floor plans to be just as popular as Chesmar’s townhome collection,” said Harry Masterson, founding principal of Concourse Development, developer of Woodridge Forest. “The functional floor plans easily accommodate the needs of an array of buyers while maintaining the stylish finishes that have driven sales. Add in Woodridge Forest’s great Kingwood-area location, numerous amenities and great schools, and you have a winning combination.”

Buyers can choose from nine floor plans ranging from 1,586 to more than 2,600 square feet. Homes are priced from $219,990 to $286,990 with special pre-sales pricing available. Standard features include kitchens with granite countertops and a GE appliance package, flexible spaces and large master suites. Many designs offer large, covered front and back porches.

A new Chesmar model will be unveiled Aug. 11 joining the two model homes the builder opened last October.

The Lanai design will be a three-bedroom, two-bath, single-story model. An open floor  plan offers a spacious family room open to a breakfast area and a kitchen with an island and walk-in pantry. The master suite is highlighted by a bay window overlooking the backyard and a master bath with tub and shower, double-sink vanity and a walk-in closet. Buyers also will appreciate the conveniently located utility room and the covered patio.

Chesmar is not the only builder to pursue an aggressive building program in Woodridge Forest, which is one of the newest master-planned communities in the venerable Kingwood area. In June, Gehan Homes opened its second model. Joining Chesmar Homes and Gehan Homes are Saratoga Homes and Westin Homes.

Woodridge Forest is located one mile east of Highway 59 in the Kingwood area of Houston. The 332-acre community is a member of the Kingwood Service Association. Residents also enjoy their own community center, resort-style pool and stocked fishing ponds. Young residents attend award-winning schools in the rapidly growing New Caney Independent School District, including on-site Woodridge Forest Middle School.
